Educational Resources for Children, Inc. (ERfC) is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1994 to provide quality out-of-school time programs for children in Enfield, CT.
ERfC’s mission is to team with kids, communities, schools, and families to grow resilient kids. Through innovative community collaborations, we help kids learn, reach their goals, and contribute to their communities. Our mission guides all of our organizational activities including our strategy of collaborating with a variety of organizations and individuals to provide quality, innovative services.
LitArt Afterschool is a fun and interactive curriculum that gets kids excited about reading. Teachers lead a team of up to 10 students in literacy based activities designed for K-3. All lesson plans, books, and
materials are provided, along with a teacher’s guide.
LitArt Afterschool includes theme-based lessons plans designed to be fun and interactive and address
many different learning styles. This researched-based curriculum covers various aspects of literacy, including reading comprehension, reading fluency, oral language skills, and attitudes toward reading and learning.
One afternoon will include KidZ Math activities. All the curriculum includes active games, word games, number games, pantomime, theater games using puppets and creative collages. The books reflect a variety of social, racial, and linguistic backgrounds.
Candidates must be either a certified teacher, literacy teacher, or student teacher with experience teaching literacy with children in grades K-3.
